LABORATORIO D'ESTORIAS

ABOUT LABORATORIO D'ESTORIAS

Ancestral techniques. In Portugal, in 1820, Maria dos Cacos was the first to use the technique of ceramics bathed in a glaze that gave it a honey color. Nowadays, this ancestral technique may be lost forever but the History Laboratory (Laboratorio d'Estorias) uses it to create new objects.

An experimental design. The History Laboratory (Laboratorio d'Estorias) is an experimental design space that takes inspiration from objects of Portuguese popular culture and reinvents them: floral dishes and figurative teapots take on a whole new dimension.

Objects and stories. The History Laboratory (Laboratorio d'Estorias) uses these objects and traditions to re-invent new stories from Portuguese popular culture. Each object produced is, therefore, the synthesis of ancestral techniques,  new culture and of an overflowing creativity.
