Horus is one of the most famous paintings of the Portuguese painter Nadir Afonso. Painted in 1953, it is representative of the "pre-geometric" and "Baroque" periods of the early 1950s. Architect, painter and also collector, Nadir Afonso is one of the most renowned contemporary Portuguese artists. His works can be found in the museums of Porto and Lisbon of course, but also in Paris, Berlin, Sao Paulo and now in a museum dedicated to him in Porto.
