Shopping bag without flap, equipped with 2 round handles for hand-carrying and a removable shoulder strap with snap hooks for shoulder carrying.
It is equipped with a magnetic closure hidden by a leather buckle and pins on the outside bottom that ensure its protection and stability.
The natural cane (bulrush) used to make this bag is coated with a varnish that gives it a better resistance over time and protects it from stains, bad weather and UV.
This very beautiful and traditional bag is 100% handmade by rigorous craftsmen who master an ancestral know-how.

These bags are made by the old craftsmen of Castanheira Alcobaça village and were gathered under the impulse of Nuno Barreiro, a son of the village. A beautiful and authentic story!
The natural cane (bulrush) grows wild in the region with no fertilizer and no pesticides. It only takes a few efforts to harvest it.
Calibration, drying, everything is manual and local: no transport, no chemicals, no machines...
Weaving: At this stage too, everything is local. The village's craftsmen share a workshop and take turns to provide the orders.
Assembly, finishing, and quality controls: no bag leaves the workshop without the older ones having inspected it in all its seams.
