Beautiful contemporary reference to the iconic Portuguese geometric Azulejos series embellished with a Portuguese national symbol: The sardine.
Make no mistake about it: this Azulejo is not just a simple industrially printed faience tile that you can find in souvenir shops.
This piece is a real clay tile, enamelled on one side, handcrafted according to the traditional methods of production of the Portuguese Azulejos and entirely hand painted.
The back of this azulejo is covered with a cork piece that protects the support on which it is placed, insulates it from heat and thus allows it to be used as a undercounter.
Why I love it
- The revival of these iconic and traditional Portuguese geometric azulejos thus offering a new and ultra-contemporary vision of modernism.
- The delicacy of the decorator's gesture that makes it a unique object
- The traditional manufacturing methods that make it possible to obtain a nearly unbreakable Azulejo resistant to shocks and temperature variations.
- Size: 15 x 15 cm
- 1 enamelled side + 1 cork covered side
