ABOUT PORTUGUESE TEAS

Discover Portuguese teas. Originally from China, tea was imported into Europe by the Portuguese in the 16th century and began to be cultivated in São Miguel in the 1820s. Today, Portugal is the only European country to produce tea. The fertility of the Portuguese lands and the maintenance of an artisanal agriculture make it possible to produce flavoured teas and organic herbal teas that are not found anywhere else. Fundão cherries, Algarve oranges, Madeira fennel or Ribatejo melon are combined with teas from the Azores to offer you exceptional blends.

Discover Azores tea. The Azores islands, located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, belong to Portugal and have been producing black and green tea for centuries. Production is low but exceptional thanks to the location of these islands, far from any pollution. The tea produced there is also known to be very rich in antioxidants and vitamins due to a very low-temperature manufacturing process.
