Ceramic figurine with the image of Saint Anthony (Santo António), born in 1195 in Lisbon and died in 1231 in Padua. Canonized in 1232, he was later named Patron Saint of Portugal and celebrated every year on June 13, which is now a national holiday.
This figurine is edited by a small workshop that produces a ceramic of very good quality. The reliefs are sharp and precise, the surface is smooth and without defects, the color is deep and perfectly applied, the finish is brilliant.

Moreinformations ?
This piece comes from a small workshop located in the Center-West of Portugal, in the province of Estremadura. Its design is characteristic of the so-called Caldas da Rainha ceramics, whose most famous author is Bordallo Pinheiro.
The molds used in this workshop have been passed down from generation to generation, and the current owner uses the molds of his grandfather. All the pieces are carefully made entirely by hand and the production is very limited.
